TAKEN FROM A MORNING IN DECEMBER 2021 :
….. How easily we play with puppies & kittens — The cute’ness is too much to resist.
I’ve been told that given proper care and concern, cats will live 20 years.
This is a good number — It’s easy to hold in your mind.
It can be used in many a good analogy.
Our human children will live, …somebody help me….
(pause; ask for audience participation… allow for a moment to pass)
Let’s agree that, barring misfortune or accident, they could enjoy 80 years on this once incredibly rich and diverse planet, ‘home’ to us all — From Maritimer to Māori, from Malawian to Oji-Cree, ..
Four cats ::::)) that’s 80 years.
and more often as not, cats demonstrate kitten-like behaviours for most of their lives.
Again :::)) MOST cats tend to demonstrate a kitten-like behaviour for most of their lives,.. (make an aside about the educational term: ‘life-long learning”)
Try it. Be more cat-like. Learn to “adult”, but avoid “growing-up” be Peter Pan.
If you have hope for your children, engage them.
It could be as simple as baking.
As difficult as turning off your TV (this applies to adults almost more so)
Both of these are choices, … suggestions,
Are both, in themselves, …tremendously difficult and regrettably easy.
If you are lucky enough to have made cookies with a 9 yr old, regardless of your baking skills.. there’s a good chance you’ll have a happy camper, flour on the floor, egg in your hair (provided you have some), maybe even chocolate on your fingers, which you’ll know what to do with.. or at least I knows what I do’s with it….
And the cookies will bring smiles and your heart will be good.
It (your ❤️) might even get Grinch-a-fied,……. it may grow a little.,
