MultiMedia Artist, Musician & Educator

Born and raised in the mining towns of 1970s Newfoundland & Labrador, including: Badger, Baie Verte & Labrador City. Until following the family to Elliot Lake, Ontario in 1980, where he finished high school.

Earning an Arts Diploma at Sheridan College, he briefly studied  Classical Animation before deciding upon a degree in Fine Arts at the University of Guelph. By 1993, he had left school and began work as a tree-planter across Northern Ontario, Alberta & B.C. After 4 years in Korea, he returned to Guelph to complete a degree in International Development, followed by a degree in Secondary Education from Queen’s University in Kingston.

His first public exhibition was in 1995, with the Kingston Artist Association. He has since professionally exhibited works across Ontario, including: Kingston, London, Timmins, North Bay and in Winnipeg, Edmonton, Vancouver, Korea & Thailand.

Typically, his work is both expressive and representational, ranging from impressionistic, G7inspired landscapes, to surreal figurative compositions, as well as realistic studies in graphite, acrylics, watercolours, pastels & oils. His work is in private collections internationally.

After 15 years at Northern Lights Secondary School in Moosonee, near James Bay, he retired from active teaching in January 2023. Following retirement he went to Thailand, where he would visit the beach destinations of Krabi, Koh Lanta, Ko Phayam, Koh Pha’ngan & Hua Hin, before finally finding home & community on Koh Samui, where he could be found most nights playing guitar at various beachside bars in the neighbourhoods of Chaweng, Lamai, Bo-Phut & Nathon.

He has resided in Gander since October 2024.
