How easily we play with puppies & kittens — The cute\u2019ness is too much to resist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2019ve been told that given proper care and concern, cats will live 20 years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n This is a good number — It\u2019s easy to hold in your mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It can be used in many a good analogy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our human children will live,\u00a0…somebody help me\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n (pause; ask for audience participation\u2026 allow for a moment to pass)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Let\u2019s agree that, barring misfortune or accident, they could enjoy 80 years on this once incredibly rich and diverse planet, ‘home’ to us all — From Maritimer to M\u0101ori, from Malawian to Oji-Cree, ..\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Four cats ::::)) that\u2019s 80 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n and more often as not, cats demonstrate kitten-like behaviours for most of their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Again :::)) MOST cats tend to demonstrate a kitten-like behaviour for most of their lives,.. (make an aside about the educational term: \u2018life-long learning\u201d)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Try it. Be more cat-like. Learn to \u201cadult\u201d, but avoid \u201cgrowing-up\u201d be Peter Pan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you have hope for your children, engage them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It could be as simple as baking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As difficult as turning off your TV (this applies to adults almost more so)<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026.. more on this later<\/p>\n\n\n\n Both of these are choices, \u2026 suggestions, <\/p>\n\n\n\n Are both, in themselves, \u2026tremendously difficult and regrettably easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you are lucky enough to have made cookies with a 9 yr old, regardless of your baking skills.. there\u2019s a good chance you\u2019ll have a happy camper, flour on the floor, egg in your hair (provided you have some), maybe even chocolate on your fingers, which you\u2019ll know what to do with.. or at least I knows what I do\u2019s with it\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And the cookies will bring smiles and your heart will be good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It (your \u2764\ufe0f) might even get Grinch-a-fied,\u2026\u2026. it may grow a little.,<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n *updated August 2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n thoughts on family, education, yada-yada-yada TAKEN FROM A MORNING IN DECEMBER 2021 : …..
